In-Home Lactation Services Offered
All the benefits of a breastfeeding center brought to you. Mothers and babies tend to be more relaxed and open to learning when in the comforts of their natural surroundings. Home visits also allow the opportunity for me to assess issues such as safe sleep arrangements, normal routines, and need for additional support.
Prenatal Visit, 30-60 Minutes ($35 .00)
Prenatal visits are the first step in beginning a successful and fulfilling breastfeeding experience. This is a perfect opportunity to discuss any questions and concerns your family may have about the exciting things to come. We well cover the importance of the early postpartum weeks, proper latch techniques, feeding cues, proper nutrition, helpful products, and separate facts from myths. Prenatal visits are beneficial to everyone but especially helpful if you are feeling overwhelmed by all the varying information and advice. This is a perfect time to create a plan that is right for you.
In-Home Lactation Consult, 2 hours ($80.00)
The greatest gift you can give your child is your breast milk and the greatest gift you can give yourself is EARLY breastfeeding support. Initial breastfeeding support is recommended by babies third day (earlier if prenatal lactation support was not possible) and later is baby was delivered by cesarean section. Receiving guidance and getting all of your questions answered during the first few days of breastfeeding initiation is key to building successful nursing practices.
We will cover feeding cues, latch, positions, schedules, check baby's weight and assess intake. We can work to correct any difficulties you and your baby may be having and often foresee and prevent future troubles before they arise.
Initial consults often take about two hours, less if you have time constrains, and longer if needed. I will aid you until you feel all of your questions are answered and you are confident and comfortable with what is to come.

Follow-up Visit, 60-90 minutes ($40.00)
If new breastfeeding challenges, such as reduced milk supply or loss of interest at the breast arise a follow-up visit may be just what you need. Follow-up visits are also extremely helpful and educational as you and your baby’s needs begin to change. Are you going back to work and worried about expression and milk storage, we can cover that. Is your baby approaching six months of age, the optimal time to start solids? We can review proper first foods how to prepare and store homemade baby food. Maintaining milk supply when your baby begins sleeping through the night, teething, and weaning are all topics that often leave successful breastfeeding families full of questions. As you reach these milestones I would love to come back and ease any concerns.
